CDE Lightband - Clarksville Department of Electricity – Clarksville, TN

From October 6-12, CDE Lightband and more than 2,000 other community-owned, not-for-profit electric utilities are celebrating Public Power Week! As your locally owned and operated power company, we serve YOU, not private investors. We also play a key role in the local economy and work hard to attract and keep good careers for the folks in our community. Served by TVA, we manage our resources wisely so we can invest in the people, technology and equipment needed to keep reliability high and rates as low as possible. When natural disasters or extreme weather strikes, CDE Lightband works tirelessly to ensure your homes, your businesses and critical infrastructure have reliable power when it’s needed most.

Stuff the Bucket: Operation Stand Down

  • Date: October 10 • 9AM – 3PM
  • Location: CDE Lightband front parking lot

As our primary focus is giving back to our community, we will be hosting a “Stuff the Bucket” on Thursday, October 10 from 9AM – 3PM, where we will have one of our bucket trucks staged in our front parking lot to receive donations for Operation Stand Down Tennessee (OSDTN). Five Star Radio will be joining us from 11AM – 1PM to show their support for our veterans donation drive!

OSDTN is the only comprehensive veteran-serving agency in Middle Tennessee, connecting veterans and their spouses with careers, community, and crisis services. They focus on helping chronically homeless veterans by providing meaningful employment and support, aiming to prevent daily hardships. By engaging veterans early in their transition, understanding their goals, and guiding them to available benefits and job opportunities, OSDTN empowers their success and offers a hand up, not a handout.

Items needed:

  • Bus passes
  • Bottled waters
  • Kroger / Walmart gift cards
  • New sleeping bags
  • New blankets
  • Hand warmers
  • Non-perishable snack items such as: chips, granola bars, sandwich crackers, individual bags of peanuts, fruit cups, beef sticks and more

Be sure to follow CDE Lightband on social media!
Throughout the week, we’ll be sharing valuable insights about the importance of public power.
