Scam Alert

September 19, 2017

CDE Lightband is reminding customers to be on alert for scammers who contact them threatening to disconnect electric service if payment is not made upon demand.

These scammers are currently targeting CDE Lightband business customers, particularly local restaurants, and have the ability to “spoof” or alter the name and phone number on caller ID to show as CDE Lightband.

The most recent customer reported that he was told to purchase a green dot card to make his payment in order to avoid immediate disconnection.

CDE Lightband does not make phone calls to solicit payments upon demand.  A safe way to avoid this scam is to call CDE Lightband at (931) 648-8151 to determine account status. Customers can also view their billing and payment history on the CDE Lightband Web site at www.cdelightband.com under My Account.
